Hi I'm Alix
As a mom and artist, I believe creativity should feel personal and woven into everyday family life. My career has lived at the intersection of art, storytelling, and entrepreneurship, but becoming a parent reshaped my understanding of what art can do: it can slow us down, help children feel understood, and turn fleeting childhood moments into lasting memories. From 2017 to 2024, I built and led ArtSugar, an e-commerce platform championing underrepresented artists around the world. When the business was acquired in 2024, it marked the close of one chapter and opened the door to more intimate, hands-on creative work rooted in motherhood, home, and the small rituals that shape family life. I founded Little Lines & Traditions to bring art into the rhythms of childhood. I create educational and holiday coloring books designed to help children understand feelings, build confidence, and connect with family rituals. I also create personalized coloring books, commissioned coloring books, and heirloom family portrait paintings - meaningful keepsake gifts that celebrate a child’s world and preserve family stories. Everything I create blends fine-art sensibility with warmth and play, supporting emotional development while helping families slow down, connect, and create meaningful shared experiences. Prior to my entrepreneurial endeavors, I spent a decade working at leading New York galleries and auction houses, shaping my understanding of art from the inside out. I hold a BFA from Cornell University and a Master’s degree in Art History from Christie’s Education, and I was educated at the Horace Mann School. I have written about art and its cultural value, including contributions to The Value of Art by Michael Findlay. Today, I paint commissioned family portraits and design coloring books inspired by real parenting moments - from potty training and big feelings to holiday traditions and bedtime rituals. I am based in New York City with my husband Rob, our children Gus and Lillian, and our dog Brady.
