Introduces conservation in an approachable way

Through its landmarks, traditions, architecture, and natural beauty, the book helps children understand that ’Sconset is not simply a vacation destination—it is a historic community that requires care and preservation.

The illustrations and local stories encourage families to think about protecting the coastline, respecting historic places, caring for the environment, and leaving the village as beautiful as they found it.

The Little Lines & Traditions Philosophy

At Little Lines & Traditions, I believe everyday moments and sacred traditions deserve to be treated like works of art.

Children learn best when education feels beautiful, tangible, and connected to real life. My books are designed to slow families down in the best way - creating space for conversation, curiosity, and connection to heritage through illustration and storytelling.

XO, Alix Greenberg

Discover the charm, history, and traditions of Nantucket’s beloved village—one letter at a time.

The ABCs of ’Sconset is a hand-illustrated coloring book created to celebrate the landmarks, stories, and small details that make Siasconset so special. From A for ACK and B for Bluff Walk to hydrangeas, Sankaty Lighthouse, the ’Sconset Market, rose-covered cottages, and other village favorites, every page offers a new piece of the island to color and discover.

Created by artist Alix Greenberg of Little Lines & Traditions in partnership with the ’Sconset Civic Association, the book also features educational writing by local author John Lancaster. Together, the illustrations and stories introduce children and families to the history and character of this one-of-a-kind Nantucket community.

Whether enjoyed during a summer on the island or brought home as a keepsake, this screen-free activity is a meaningful way to share the magic of ’Sconset with the next generation.
